Port operator Luka Koper generated EUR 152.85m in net sales revenue in 2014, which was 12% more than the year before, according to unaudited preliminary data released by the company on Thursday.
Moreover, transshipment of cargo reached the highest level in eight years since the start of the economic crisis, climbing 5% to 18.96 million tonnes, the company said in a press release posted online by the Ljubljana Stock Exchange.Slightly more than 674,000 containers went through Slovenia’s sole sea port last year, which was 12% more than in 2013. The number of transshipped cars was also up 12% to 518,900.
General cargo dropped by 1% to 1.63 million tonnes year-on-year, while the amount of fluid cargo increased by 8% to 3.07 million tonnes and bulk cargo decreased 4% to 6.72 million tonnes.
